Hey guys! Yes, i know its been awhile since I posted so I will like to get everybody updated with my twirling journey so far. So far, I have had 3 team practices in the past 3 weeks and 2 solo practices also. I am now a level A in compulsoaries ~ which are different levels of techniques I learn to help me become a better twirler in the future.~ I am super excited because next week, a special coach is going to come in and teach us our new dance twirl routine to the Kooza Dance ~Yippee!~ I am also going to have a private lesson with this coach and this coach is going to make my new solo and dance twirl routine. I am so so so excited to learn my new dance twirl routine because now this dance twirl event has new music for the soloists competing in Dance twirl( I will post the song once I can download it to my computure or find it online)

Besides twirling, I am doing very well in my 1st year of highschool ~WooHoo!~ So far, i have gotten all good grades and I have been on one school field trip. I cant believe it but the class i thought i was going to do terrible in, I m actually doing very well in. I am so proud of my self :') On our first test, I got an 81 but our teacher*who now rocks* let us do test corrections so I did them and got myself a 91 on my 1st algebra test! Overall, school is great and in future blog posts, I will take the time to stop and talk about my academic doings since that is also important in my life and future. Week 2 of My Twirling Journey...
Hey Guys! Welcome back to my blog. On Tuesday September 27, I had my second team practice for the season. WooHoo!!:) At this practice, my teammates and I worked on our indiviual tricks and also our twirl routine "Alice". We all practiced two turns, three turns, illusions, and more. I am so happy that I almost got my full right split! ~GO ME!!! LOL:D~ I was also supposed to have a solo lesson after team, but certain things got in the way so I didnt, but I will have another solo lesson this Friday.
#QUICKFACT- This year, I am doing freestyle which is new to me. I know many of you are asking, "What is freestyle?" so i will explain it alittle. Freestyle is a solo event in twirling where you (meaning YOURSELF) can chose the type of music and routine you want to do. You can twirl to anything you pick and you can also pick the costume you want also! In freestyle, you need to be up to a cerain level in twirling to be able to compete in this event. I am so excited that I will be doing freestyle this year. The song I chosed to twirl to ~with the help of my mom~ is Naturally by Selena Gomez. See link below for song:)
So, thats basically it! Nothing really big happened at this practice so tune in next week and enjoy your weekend! :*

My Twilring Journey So Far... Week One, First Practice
Hey Guys! Welcome back to my blog! First, Ill like to apologize for posting this post so late. Ive been very busy this week and I didnt really have the time to do it so yeah, now i did...LOL! On September 20, I had my first offical team practice. I was so excited to see my teammates and to go to this practice because ive been working so hard this summer and I wanted to show everyone my improvements. So far, I almost have my full right split. I am like a inch and a half from the ground. I have also gotten faster with my thumbflips and my llusions are getting a little better. My toss cartwheels are also great because so far at this practice, I caught them 3 out of 4 times! Thats really good for a person that started to do them last year
:)
:)
At the 1st practice, all 5 of my teammates(including me) were happy to see eachother. We practiced indiviual tricks like 3 turns and illusions and we also ran through our team routine. Our twirl team music is "Alice in Wonderland" Its a pretty awesome routine and I like twirling to it. Oh, before i forget to, we also got our new dance twirl routine music. I LOVE the song our coach picked for us. Its called the Kooza Dance and its from Cirque de Soeil. To me, this song is like broadway-ish but I still like it. If you want to hear this song, watch the video below v
This song seems super fun to twirl to and I am super excited to start learning the twirl rountine to it. We also had alittle "teamtalk" at our practice. Basically, my assistance coach told us how this year we cant have the problems that happened on the team last year. For example, no attitudes towards the coach or eachother, no coming late to practice, not attending practice for small reasons and also being prepared for each practice.
So thats what basically happened at my first practice. If you have any questions or comments, comment below or email me at Lenaidj@gmail.com. Remember! Come back next week to read a blog post about my 2nd practice:) Have a great day:*

Dance Moms-TV show Review
Dance Moms-Review
Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog! Today, I will be doing a show review on a new TV show called "Dance Moms". I really do like watching this show because its about the life of young, strong dancers who have these crazy moms that try to do what they can to make their daughter the best. This show takes place at a Dance studio called "Abby Lee" in , i believe, Pennyslavania. It also takes place at local competitions, recitals, and Big regional/national competitions.
Dance Moms really does relate to my life, but with twirling, and thats why I like it. I think their should be a show called "Twirl Moms"...LOL. This show basically shows everything that goes on within this dance team and their mothers. It shows all the injuries the dancers have, practices, competitons and of course d-r-a-m-a which also happens to me as a twirler. The dance competitions are basically the same as the twirling competitions I go to. There are team event, in which teams compete, and there is also solo events where every girl is for herself. These are just like the ones from twirling. On the show, sometimes there are problems with the costumes that the coach picks and this also goes on with my team and coach also...LOL:)
This show is related to my life in twirling because the whole team is bascially just like mine team! There is the only one African American girl on the travel team, which is like me in so many ways. Both of our mothers are the same because they will fight, not literally, for whats right and fair for their daughter. The team consits of girls all around the same age, just like my twirl team. Sometimes on this show, there are problems when other teammates and their mothers think that one girl is always the C.O.A(center of attention) and this makes EVERYONE mad. That situation happens around my twirl team sometimes also! ~I dont think its fair to just have one girl have all the attention and i believe if you put a girl in the back in most of the routines, you should bring here in the front NOT once but a few times during the routine and have the one thats in the front all the time put in the back for some too. Never have one girl in the front the whole time and one girl in back the whole time during team routines. Its not fair. Everyone should have a chance of attention!!!!!~
So overall, I believe this show is AMAZING to watch and all my followers should watch it also! If you want to watch this show, it comes on the lifetime TV network Wednesday Nights at 10pm. If i was a critic, i would give this show a five out of five stars. If you have any questions about this show, comment or email me at Lenaidj@gmail.com.

About Twirling
Baton Twirling is a atletic sport that both men and women could do at any age. Baton Twirling is very fun but super competetive. There are many competitions. Some of these competitions can be local or even worldwide! Regionals, Nationals, International Cup, and The World Cup are some of the biggest competitions in twirling, but for the Cup competitions, you need to be on the United States Twirling Team to compete. During these cup competitions, the U.S team can twirl against countries from Europe all the way to Japan! You need to be EXTREMELY amazing to make the U.S team and one day, i hope I do.
There are different twirling events in this sport.
There are different twirling events in this sport.
There are solos and teams. You can twirl in a team of any organization with up to 20 teammates! When you do any solo, you twirl by yourself but if you win, you get the awards to keep for yourself. There is also pairs for twirlers to twirl together with a partner.
Baton Twirling includes many qualities you must have or gain. Twirling invovles dance skills, thinking, balance, and flexability. If you have some of these skills, you will become a good baton twirler in the future.
Usually once you start to twirl, you wont ever want to quit! Its so much fun and you can meet new friends! If you have any questions about twirling, you can email me at lenaidj@gmail.com or comment on my blog:)

My Twirling Journey so far... Introduction
Hey guys! This is my first post and i hope you read and enjoy it. To start off, I havent started the actually twirling season yet. My first offical practice will be September 20! So on Septemeber 20th at night, come back to my blog and read about my first practice.
So, since its summer, i usually take a little break from twirling but after a few days or week, i go back and practice my butt off..LOL. Usually during this time, i practice my indivival tricks like my thumbflips, finger twirls, catching back hands, and all my toss cartwheel/illusion stuff. I usually practice outside my house for atleast an 1 hour and a half. My neighbors love watching me because im probably the only twirler they know!
On Septemeber 20th, i will have my first team practice. Yes, i dont only do solos. I twirl with the twirling team called "The Brumidi Sunshine"Ive been twirling with that organization forever, but i love it! Since my team is with 5 other teenage girls, sometimes there is drama but we always solve it. "There is no I in team" is what my coach says to us all the time because since we are a team, we must work together like one to win and be the best. This post probably isnt to exciting and i apologize but as soon as the new twirling season starts, I will be posting things about my practices, competetions, shows, how to tricks and more so stay tune...
